Better Security. Safer Patient Data.
Individual Logins and Two Factor Authentication

One of the simplest and most effective ways to improve security is to give every employee their own login credentials instead of sharing a single username and password and adding Two-Factor authentication (2FA).

Individual Logins – More Control, Better Security

AutoRemind now offer individual logins, so every employee that needs access can get their own username and password to the AutoRemind platform. This makes it easier to control who can access patient information and provides better accountability. When an employee leaves the practice, their access can be disabled immediately without changing passwords for everyone else. Administrators can also manage user access, helping ensure that only authorized staff can access sensitive information.

Two-Factor Authentication – An Extra Layer of Protection

AutoRemind’s Individual logins system also makes it possible to introduce Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). With 2FA, employees verify their identity using a second method, such as a one-time code via email (better security) or us an authenticator app (great security), in addition to their password. Even if a password is stolen or compromised, this extra verification makes it significantly harder for an unauthorized person to gain access. Microsoft research found that multi-factor authentication can reduce the risk of account compromise by more than 99%.

Better Protection for Your Patients

Cyberattacks, password phishing, and AI-powered threats are on the rise. Strengthening your security better protects not only your practice’s digital assets, but also your patients' data. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which oversees HIPAA, has proposed new security requirements that would make two-factor authentication (2FA) mandatory for systems handling protected patient information.

AutoRemind started preparing for stronger security 4–5 years ago, investing in our fourth-generation technology. Over the past year, some AutoRemind customers have already upgraded to our new, more secure login system. Now it's time for all of customers to implement this upgrade.

To summarize:

AutoRemind is committed to making robust, innovative and easy to use products. With our new security updates, a small change in how your team logs in leads to a big improvement in protecting your patients' data.
